College of Medicine & Health

The starting salary for Postdoctoral Research Associate will be from £29,515 up to £34,189 on Grade E, depending on qualifications and experience.

The starting salary for Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be from £35,211 up to £43,261 on Grade F, depending on qualifications and experience.

The starting salary for Senior Research Fellow will be from £44,559 up to £58,089 on Grade G, depending on qualifications and experience.

This full time post is available from 1 October 2019 on a fixed term basis until 30 September 2024.  

Summary of the role

The College of Medicine and Health wishes to recruit a researcher (Postdoctoral Research Associate, Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow) to work on projects related to implementation science and knowledge mobilisation in health services research. You will work on a range of existing and new projects as well as playing an active role in identifying new topic areas for development.

About you

Postdoctoral Research Associate

You will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or be nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

You will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. You will be a nationally recognised authority in health services research, implementation science or a related area and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. You will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required.

Senior Research Fellow:

Applicants will be able to contribute to the development of research strategies; participate in the overall management of the College in areas such as strategic planning, budget management and business planning; plan and deliver research, consultancy or similar programmes and actively seek and secure research funding.

You will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study.

At Senior Research Fellow level, you will be a nationally recognised authority in their area within their research field and possess in-depth understanding of implementation science to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field. In addition, you will provide academic leadership to research teams, lead and develop internal and external networks, and develop links with external contacts in order to foster collaboration and generate income.
