We are working on a truly unique opportunity for a driven and focused Farm Foreman to join a Christmas tree farm based just outside of Dundee. Nestled at the foot of the Sidlaw Hills, the farm is based in a picturesque valley that is south of the Cairngorm Mountains yet is still only a 20 minute drive into the centre of Dundee, giving you the best of both worlds.
The farm was established on a small holding almost 60 years ago and has grown to be 55 times larger than its original size yet it has still kept its family values. With the farm continuing to grow, there is the potential for this Farm Foreman role to develop into a Manager position for the right person.
As Farm Foreman, you will work alongside the Farm Manager assisting in the running and growing of Christmas trees. You will become a vital member of the farming team and carry out duties such as spraying and fertilising the crop, carrying out specialist work with the trees, supporting the seasonal staff and other general farm duties such as fencing, tree cutting, topping, drainage and cultivations.
The role will be predominantly an outdoor working role, in all kinds of weather conditions but it has the potential to develop into a manager position.
We are looking for candidates who are driven, ambitious and hardworking. You will be a natural grower and have experience of farm work. You will have experience of handling heavy machinery and tractor driving. Ideally, you will have PA1 & 2 spray certificates and your Telescopic Handler licence. If you have PA6 and a forklift licence this would be a bonus.
On average, you will be working approximately 40-50 hours a week due to the seasonal nature of the role. There will also be weekend work.
