An opportunity has arisen for the role of Technician to work in the Utility Team within Float Manufacturing at both St Helens sites. This is a temporary position to cover an individual who has been seconded to the Management Team and is likely to be for 12 months in the first instance.
The successful candidate will be required to work as a member of a flexible multi-departmental team, providing technical expertise and operational support across all areas of the operations including Online Coating, Silvering, UK5 mainline, and Customer Supply when required.
This role requires significant flexibility and mobility in responding to changes in priorities, which may require change at short notice to another task, work area or shift arrangement.
The successful candidate will be required to work safely within the operating procedures set for the task and to report hazards and incidents in a timely manner. She/he will also be required to operate plant, equipment and information systems within the allocated work areas to safely meet production/despatch schedules and other operational targets as specified and to achieve the required standards of quality and customer service.
Applicants must work co-operatively as a member of a team and have the ability to instruct/coach colleagues in areas of their own expertise.
Working hours are an average of 37.5 hours per week, worked on a continuous 4 set pattern from 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am.
