Why is our Strategy Manager the next step for you?
The purpose of the Strategy Manager role is to support the Commercial Development in developing the overall strategy for Worldpay in the UK and across Europe and in identifying and commercialising new product and operational improvement opportunities.

The role has four areas of responsibilities:
  • Drive strategy development and strategic planning for the UK&EU business
  • Lead on analytical problem solving for business wide strategic issues
  • Support partnerships & commercialisation initiatives
  • Provide ad-hoc support for exec-level presentations

How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?

You will work on the major strategic issues that will shape Worldpay UK&EU in the next 2-5 years by:
  • Driving the development of the UK&EU strategy and the strategic planning process for the line of business. You will be bringing in depth understanding of market / customer / competitive trends and a holistic view of performance across the business, synthesizing the insights and working with the UK&EU Executive team to translate findings into operating plans
  • Leading the structuring and problem solving of complex strategic business issues in an analytical manner to recommend on strategic challenges. Responsibilities include working with respective members of XLT / SLT to understand the issue, developing and testing hypotheses, conducting the analysis and presenting back the results
  • Linking with Group and other LOB Strategy teams to understand the strategy of the broader business and align between the UK&EU and Group objectives. You will act as a knowledge expert in the UK&EU market and geographic dynamics, customer needs by segment, payment innovations and trends, and growth opportunities
  • Supporting the identification and structuring of partnership opportunities. In collaboration with the partnerships team you will be mapping the landscape of potential providers we can partner with, understand and evaluate their business model and advise on structure of commercial proposals
  • Informing our go-to-market strategy and proposition development, bringing in the commercial angle. You will be working cross-functionally with Product and Marketing to ensure we are understand opportunity for new propositions, develop and target the right segments and plan for and monitor new roll-outs in a coordinated manner. When required, you may also build and own the business case, getting input from Finance and the business owner, and then present it to the relevant members of the UK and Group SLT
  • Providing ad-hoc support for exec-level presentations and requests, including developing presented material, attending sessions and presenting sections of the presentations to the UK Exec


What will make you the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years in strategy consulting or a similar field (e.g. strategic in-house consultancy). As well as a relevant degree.
A good business understanding of sales, marketing and operations, as well as independence with a can-do attitude and a strong aspiration to get things done and to improve the business. An exceptional analytical problem solving skills with ability to structure complex issues. Non-hierarchical, with proven ability to work cross-functionally to develop joint strategies
