Our client is the Producers Organisation (PO) behind one of the most successful vegetable marketing organisations, supplying the UK major multiples with UK grown vegetables. As a result of their continued growth they now want to appoint a General Manager to support the new and exciting phase of the company's development.
The role will be to act as a link between the growers and the marketing organisation, coordinating the planning and production of the grower's vegetables to maximise the market opportunities and returns. You will be liaising with the marketing business and looking to optimise efficiencies in the supply chain whilst meeting customer requirements and maximise grower returns.
We are looking for an exceptional communicator as you will be tasked with building effective working relationships with, and supporting growers, helping them plan and deliver their annual production in line with the strategy and marketing plan. You will work closely with the administrative function ensuring that the PO operating plan is delivered and complies with the PO regulations.
It is likely that you are either an established general manager or you are a supply chain focussed senior manager with fresh produce or agriculture experience, used to managing complex short shelf life products and used to contributing at a senior level from a strategic perspective. Overall you should be assertive, a good presenter and negotiator with strategic, tactical and operational skills.
