A national regulatory body working within the healthcare sector are seeking an experienced policy professional to join their London office as a Policy and Planning Manager on a 6month contract.
Your new role
As Policy and Planning Manager you will develop policy on a range of projects and assist with day-to-day operational policy issues in the team including general enquiries from the public, consultation responses, policy queries and policy advice for operational colleagues. Working with internal stakeholders, you will play an integral part in delivering the policy programme of both the directorate and the wider organisation.

In this role you will develop and maintain a broad working knowledge of "fitness to practise" policy and the wider policy work being carried out by organisation and to provide advice and support to the Fitness to Practise Directorate and other policy teams. You will lead high quality evidence based policy development by researching issues, presenting and evaluating options, as well as deliver and manage policy projects from inception to implementation. Although no direct line management during the fixed term contract, you may be required to provide cover for other Policy Manager in supporting policy and planning officers and assistants, and help assist with managing the day to day operational policy issues in the team.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in policy development including research, analysis and presentation of findings that has been gained within the Healthcare sector or within professional regulation. You will have a demonstrable understanding of the policy process with an ability to clearly explain policy and legislation development and how it impacts on an organisation. Your well-developed communication skills will provide you with the ability to present complex information in an accessible and persuasive format, both in writing and verbally, tailoring to the needs of different audiences at all levels.

An understanding of professional regulations, complaint handling and the fitness to practise statutory framework is highly desirable, although not essential as candidates with transferable policy skills and experience will be considered.

The salary is paying from 42,000 up to 55,000 per annum depending on experience. This role is based in their Central London office. Hours are 35 hours a week with the opportunity to work flexibly.
