NHS Domestic Assistant (PO)
To provide cleaning services within the unit in accordance with the standards and systems laid down by Facilities Management.
Location: Portsmouth
Temporary: Expected to last 4 -5 months with possible extension
Hours / days: 7am to 12pm Working Monday to Friday
Pay: Upto GBP10.10 per hour Umbrella or GBP8.21 per hour PAYE

Main Purpose of the Job:
- To assist in achieving and maintaining a whole hospital environment, that supports the medical care and health improvement of all patients.
- To assist in achieving and maintaining a hospital environment in accordance with the standards laid down in the Cleaner Hospitals guidelines.
- To assist in achieving and maintaining a hospital environment in accordance with the standards laid down by Infection Control.
- To respond positively to the standard required by patients, staff and visitors above and beyond the minimum laid down in the Cleaner Hospital guidelines
- Work with ward staff, where applicable, to ensure the comfort and safety of patients and staff.
- To achieve and maintain the hospital environments as a whole, so that it supports the medical care and health improvement of all patients on site.
- To achieve and maintain the hospital environments in accordance with the standards laid down in the Cleaner Hospitals guidelines.
- To achieve and maintain the hospital environments in accordance with the standards laid down by Infection Control.
- Achieving consistent customer satisfaction.
- To report any building or furnishing material defects that hinders the achievement of the expected environmental standards.
- To respond positively to the standard required by PLACE, patients, staff and visitors above and beyond the minimum laid down in the Cleaner Hospital guidelines.
- Ensure cleaning stock and consumables are controlled & stocked to a level that supports cleaning and customer needs.
- Assisting the Domestic department in delivering all of its customers' expectations.
- Support and adhere to health & safety requirements of the various Facilities Services including issues of infection control.
- Positively responding to ad hoc manual requests.
- Supporting changes in work practices.
- The post holder must be prepared to take an active role in the training of other Trust staff with regard to Site Services awareness.
- Reporting trends to the Team Leader in terms of team and customer issues.
