My client, an industry leader in their field of design, manufacture and supply of thermal processing equipment, are currently recruiting a Manufacturing Projects Engineer to bolster their Engineering department in Blackburn, Lancashire.

The role is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to project manage manufacturing processes for various projects across Europe, USA and Asia.

Travel is an essential part of this role, but as the company likes to ensure a healthy work/life balance, this will be shared among the team.

Responsibilities

- Overseeing manufacturing activities of projects
- Preparing detailed RFQ's that will be issued to prospective suppliers to quite for manufacture of items on contracts or internal R&D projects
- Working with procurement to secure bid analysis of quotations before selecting suppliers
- Monitoring manufacturing activities and producing relevant reports to feed back to the Head of Technical
- Organising visits to manufacturers facilities as well as carrying out factory acceptance tests on manufactured products
- Assisting the QHSE Manager in generating and maintaining internal procedures
- Representing the business overseas on customer and supplier sites where required
- Assist the Manufacturing Projects Manager with manufacturing plans for each project
- Monitoring all manufacturing activities including reacting to quality or timing issues to provide resolutions as efficiently as possible

The Candidate Must
- Have a time served background in Mechanical Engineering
- Have experience within a manufacturing engineering environment
- Have experience, knowledge and understanding of sheet metal fabrication, pipework and welding techniques
- Can read and understand engineering drawings
- Be able to travel to sites (possess a driving licence and own car alongside a current and valid passport)
