My local authority client are looking for an experienced Project Surveyor to join their team on a full time, but temporary basis. Working Monday to Friday 08.00am - 16.00pm, starting on the 5th of August, until the 8th of September, unless extended. My client are looking to pay GBP18ph to the successful candidate.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Carrying out surveys on inhabited properties to identify compliance with decent homes standard.
- Managing contractors working on council properties including decent homes works, disabled adaptations, door entry, environmental improvements and other work required.
- Providing reports following inspections and updating records where necessary.
- Carrying our pre and post inspections, work in progress and handover inspections
- Negotiate with contractors over defects, identifying and agreeing remedies.
- Ensuring all work is carried out within budget
Candidate criteria:
- HNC/HND/Degree in Building Construction or related field or demonstrable experience, skills and knowledge identified
- Previous experience of working on occupied dwellings
- Previous in depth experience of inspecting or surveying buildings, indentifying defects and remedies
- Previous experience of effective management of capital projects, including decent homes work.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
