With already 170 staff and over 600 volunteers, this role is not to be underestimated. To put into perspective the charities aims/needs, they currently require GBP4.7million a year to provide their free service, can you be the difference to making this charity grow and provide even more care for those really in need?

Our locally based, independent client are on the hunt for a manager with a difference, so what will make you stand out?

Although a background in retail/charity area management is a must, the person is just as important for this role.

You will lead the change to see the Retail division deliver the income growth needed to ensure the Hospice is always there to care. The ideal candidate will set and deliver the retail strategy to ensure the charity generate sustainable retail income and maintain their high profile in the community. You will have overall responsibility for all retail and distribution activity at the Hospice advising SMT, CEO and Trustees in this area.

The central retail operations manager is solely responsible for 9 stores and the online entity of the business. You will be supporting the retail and lottery side of the business, whilst keeping a close eye on distribution, ensuring the highest delivery of service at all time.

As your working days unfold, you will have a huge autonomy on the day to day running of the charity and directly affecting the monies raised for the business.

Key Accountabilities:

* Working with the Director of Business Development and the Retail Manager, devise, develop and deliver a multi-channel retail strategy to increase net profit from our retail activity.

* Lead the change to create an efficient and sustainable operating and income model, looking five years ahead.

* Provide strong leadership to a large and diverse team based remotely across our geographical patch, sharing your expertise and insights, ensuring we have a high performing team that are driven and focussed.

* Ensure retail financial targets are achieved, undertake regular reviews, forecasting, and identify timely solutions to any issues that arise.

* Work closely with the Retail and Distribution Managers to identify and deliver a programme of retail and distribution projects to improve net income, and the customer experience.

* Lead on new retail ventures and develop new retail outlets to increase income for the Hospice, undertaking research, analysis, creating robust business plans and pitching for investment.

* Ensure comprehensive analysis and evaluation is undertaken of our current retail and marketing activity to inform plans and strategy.

* Lead the annual retail budget and strategic planning process.

* Lead the annual buying process, working with the Retail Manager to ensure the stock purchased will achieve maximum income for the Hospice.

* Develop strong working partnerships with senior managers across the Hospice.

* Undertake other duties as requested by the Director of Business Development.
