Due to continued growth and expansion, our highly covetable client is now looking to add an experienced Family Solicitor to their forward-thinking and specialist team in Blackburn.

The successful Housing Disrepair Solicitor / Litigator will provide efficient and effective legal advice, assistance and representation for private and CFA funded clients maintaining the highest standards of professional expertise and client care at all times.

You will be responsible for dealing quickly and efficiently with your clients. You will ensure that cases are conducted in accordance with Law Society/SRA guidelines and compliance with Lexcel procedures.

As the Housing Disrepair Solicitor / Litigator you will be responsible for:
- Deal with clients requiring housing disrepair advice in person, managing the clients expectations
- Provide written advice to the client, where necessary
- Maintain proper diary systems i.e. court dates, limitation dates and timetables set by courts
- Produce documents and instructions and obtain expert reports
- Negotiate settlements with other parties
- Attend court alone or with counsel, and conduct own advocacy where necessary/ appropriate
- Brief counsel, where necessary/appropriate
- Assess clients for legal representation
- Submit interim and final bills on a regular basis where required
- Travel to other branch offices and other locations as required in order to carry out casework
- Meet chargeable time, financial and other targets, as set by the Partners
- Attend meetings and training sessions, where relevant to general casework

The successful Housing Disrepair Solicitor / Litigator will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
