We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to implement the necessary improvements on site.

Matthew Walker is based in Heanor and is the world's oldest Christmas pudding maker, producing around 97% of the UK Christmas pudding market. The Derbyshire factory opened in 1899 and relocated to its present site in Heanor in 1967. Matthew Walker produces over 100 different varieties of Christmas pudding and a variety of sponge puddings, supplying to all major UK retailers and a number of food service customers. Matthew Walker also supplies a range of Christmas puddings to international customers around the globe.

Our production sites are the core to our business and not only do they keep our business running, but they feed the UK every day. As Project Engineer you will be responsible for identifying where necessary changes that can be made to improve efficiency, waste and labour. This will involve undertaking root cause analysis to ensure problems are eliminated with the help of the Maintenance Engineers on site. Whilst there will be the regular day to day work there will be many projects you would be involved with along the way, this will allow you to work closely with the Chief Engineer along with various other teams in the business. In order to make sure the site is always covered there will also be the opportunity to be hands on in maintenance during holiday cover requirements.

* Be a fully qualified/time served Engineer

* PLC fault finding experience

* Experience of managing projects

* AutoCAD and Design experience

* Must be experience in electrical engineering

* Have experience in a manufacturing / production / heavy industry environment
