C&I Engineer - UKAEA

UKAEA is the home to JET (the Joint European Torus) and MAST-U (Mega Amp Spherical Tokamak - Upgrade), with plans to operate both experiments in this year.
As a C&I Engineer you will responsible the installation, maintenance, commissioning and fault finding of the control and instrumentation systems. The control and instrumentation systems vary in technology from PLCs, relay logic, electronics cards, transducers, optical systems, plant/personnel safety systems, human-machine interfaces (HMI), control systems and instrumentation.
In your role you will be accountable for:
* Leading the installation, maintenance, commissioning and fault finding of control and instrumentation systems
* The design and implementation of enhancements to the control and instrumentation systems
* Proposing improvements to the reliability and availability of the systems
* Preparation of technical documentation such as specifications, risk assessments, method statements and commissioning procedures
* Maintenance of all necessary documents for the safe and reliable operation of the systems; including drawings, maintenance procedures, operating instructions and local rules
* Ensuring that the work undertaken is fully compliant with quality, safety and environment procedures and provide toolbox talks to ensure that work is carried out safely
You'll need:
* HNC/HND in an appropriate subject such as electrical/electronics engineering or a related discipline or other equivalent and relevant qualifications
* Experience of working in industrial environments with control and instrumentation systems.
