We are working with a rapidly expanding food manufactuirng business who are based in Plymouth. They are in the market for a part time QA Technician for their site in Plympton. The role will be circa 24-25 hours per week. They would be able to consider candidates on a full time basis, however the ideal candidate will work on a part time basis. The salary for the role will be circa GBP23k, pro rata.
Responsibilities of the job include (but will not be limited to) the following:
* Monitor technical emails, action and respond if required
* Daily, weekly, monthly Quality Assurance, procedural and hygiene standard checks
* Collation and checking of all paperwork
* Product traceability
* Customer / 3rd Party / BRC audits.
* Internal auditing
* Calibration checks
* Finished Product and Raw material sampling, environmental and hand swabs for microbiological analysis and product evaluation panels
* HACCP procedures
* Specifications - Finished Products, Raw Materials and Packaging
* Raw material, packaging and service supplier control, accreditation status, review and maintenance
* HACCP / Allergen Control Plan team participation, procedures, audit and maintenance.
* Customer complaint control investigations, responses by post or email and trend analysis reports.
* Microbiological sample schedules, registration and collation of results / trend analysis.
* Product development liaison, recipe formulation, ingredient and packaging specification collation, review, ingredient declaration, nutritional data, label composition and creation, product record sheets, methods and finished product specifications.
* Customer requests - specifications, allergen templates, self-assessment questionnaires, regulation adherence confirmations etc.
* Pest control (Valley Pest Control) contract liaison and maintenance.
* Background / experience of food manufacturing
* Minimum Level 3 Certificate (or equivalent) in Food Hygiene
* Level 2 Certificate in HACCP
* Internal Auditing
* Knowledge of BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 8 or similar
* Good technical understanding of food production / manufacturing
* Computer literate
