SUMMARY:

Reporting to the HR Service Centre Manager the primary function of the HR Apprentice is to provide an efficient and effective clerical and administrative support service to the HR Service Centre in accordance with group policies and procedures.

As this is an apprentice post the job holder will be required to work across the various process areas within the HR Service Centre to develop skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of the employee life-cycle administration. This will be via on the job training and formal training sessions to establish knowledge and understanding.

There is a requirement to attend regular meetings with the line manager and assessor leading to an Apprenticeship Certificate in Business Administration Level 2.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

To answer/deal with queries, both face to face and via the telephone, take messages and pass them on to the relevant member of the team in an appropriate and timely manner
To maintain filing systems in line with organisations policies and procedures ensuring all employee personnel files are up to date and maintained to a high standard (both electronic and hard copy)
To assist with the ordering and maintenance of stock supplies (specific to role as appropriate i.e. letterhead)
Attend and take part in team meetings & regular reviews with line manager etc
To prepare for and attend assessment meetings and participate in relevant training programmes as required
To complete all mandatory training as required
Maintain accurate employee records through the HR Management System/Database (HrPro)
Basic data extraction from the HR Management System/Database (HrPro)
Create/amend MyHR self serve accounts
Complete outbound calling to drive customer experience (including the on-boarding process)
Provide assistance to the HR Service Centre Administrators with employee lifecycle administration as required
Process overtime requests ensuring that the appropriate authorisation has been provided
Ensure all references are completed within agreed SLA's
Provide general office and cross team process support where required, including scanning and post
Other such duties as may be required from time to time in line with the grading of the post and NVQ requirementsPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

For this role it is essential you have good all-round IT skills, but most importantly confidence, a good working attitude and bags of personality. Our office is fun but very hard-working and so you need to be robust. This really is a great opportunity to work in a fast paced environment and learn all aspects of HR administration. This will ideally suit a school/college leaver to work with our chosen training supplier and work towards an NVQ level 2 Business Administration.

Minimum if 4 GSCE's or equivalent (this must include A - D in Maths and English)

Must meet minimum requirements of training provider for access to NVQ and apprenticeship programme
