An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Governance to join Cobalt Housing. This is a crucial role for Cobalt Housing, as the role holder will ensure that Cobalt Housing continues to operate in a compliant manner through the setting, monitoring and embedding of the Governance Framework in line with our agreed Corporate Plan, business strategies, legislation, codes of practice and regulatory requirements.
The Head of Governance acts as Cobalt’s Company Secretary and advises the Board, Committees and Executive Management Team (EMT) on corporate governance matters. The role holder also acts as Cobalt’s Anti-Fraud Co-ordinator in line with the responsibilities set out in our Fraud, Corruption and Bribery Policy.
To be considered for this role, you must be an expert in governance and compliance requirements of a Housing Association (or similar organisation), this includes having a sound understanding of the practical implications of GDPR and knowledge on best practice in the assessment, understanding and documentation of policies, internal controls and monitoring/managing risk and compliance. Experience in company secretarial, statutory, constitutional and corporate governance (including recruitment, appointment, performance management and development of Board Members to fulfil their governance requirements) is essential.
The salary for Head of Governance is £53,817.50 per annum, rising to £56,650 per annum on successful completion of probation. The successful candidate will enjoy 28 days holiday, plus 3 additional days for Christmas shut down, payment of professional memberships/subscriptions, gym and childcare allowance, as well as the option to join the company pension scheme.
