Mainstay Group is an award winning and leading Property Management business head quartered in Worcester. We are currently recruiting for a degree-qualified Building Surveyor to join the team on a permanent basis.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Head of Building Surveying this role will combine a hands-on building surveying role with responsibility for the development, direction and leadership of a client focused building surveying business. The role extends to the execution of building surveying services on Mainstay's existing Commercial and Residential property management contracts, plus securing new mandates from existing and new clients. Responsibility also for the delivery of top line revenue and profit, developing loyalty from existing clients, and attracting new clients.

DUTIES:

* In conjunction with the Business Unit Director, the development of long term profitable growth of a Building Consultancy business.

* Understanding client expectations and ensuring that services are organised to meet those expectations.

* Working with internal stakeholders to create a Total Asset Lifecycle Maintenance service.

* Assist in the production of service charge budgets.

* Undertaking the role of PM or CA on maintenance and refurbishment projects.

* Ensure client reports are prepared to the correct specifications and issued to clients in accordance with agreed timescales.

* To build and maintain strong relationships with all internal departments.

* Liaison with other associated professionals.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications: Degree qualified Building Surveyor / CIOB qualified. RICS is not essential for this role.

Experience:

* Strong proven track record in building surveying

* Strong IT skills

* Experience of contract administration and project management

* Specification and tender preparation on repair and maintenance projects. Section 20 Consultation experience would be of benefit

* Experience of creating planned maintenance programmes and building defect diagnosis including electronic field-based reporting systems

* Experience of building surveys and condition surveys

* Preparation of insurance reinstatement cost assessments

* Experience of providing cost advice

* Understanding of health and safety and implications of the CDM Regulations

* Awareness of the latest developments and a good understanding of best practice in Building Consultancy, including procurement and contract management methods

* Previous residential experience would be an advantage
