Head of Surveying, Salary; Upto GBP85k negotiable dependant on experience + car allowance & benefits package, Based; Luton

We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Head of Surveying to join a National Residential Property Management Company. Applicants will need to be an MRICS Chartered Surveyor at a senior level, preferably with experience of managing a surveying team / function in a Head of Surveying capacity. We are looking for commercially minded business leader to develop and enhance the surveying function and strategy for the company.

Scope and Opportunity of the role:

The scope to grow the department is huge. As the head of the surveying team you will be responsible for developing a strategy to ensure that the department activities grow and the profitability for the department increase. This is a great opportunity to be responsible for a business unit with instant impact and achievable results.
Whilst currently the team provides services in-house, the potential for developing a first-class marketable product should be achievable with the support and investment for the team available. The new Head of Surveying will be instrumental in driving this project forward.

Key duties:

Responsible for all surveying functions within the group of companies. Ensuring compliance and best practice of the department is critical to ensuring the highest levels of services are provided to clients.
Leading, Managing and mentoring the surveying team (some who are remotely based), who currently undertake all varieties of risk and H&S assessments, long term management plans, Inspecting and reporting upon building defects and implementing remedial works, and general surveying project management work.
Developing and maximising the profitability of the team
Identify & implement a growth strategy to be delivered for future periods, to include business and team growth.

Candidate requirements;

MRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor
Experience as a Head of Surveying / Surveying Manager or as a Senior Building Surveyor, looking to step up into a management and more strategic and commercially focussed role
Must have strong business acumen and be commercially minded
BSc in building surveying or equivalent
Good general building surveying knowledge
Preferably have a qualification in fire risk assessment, and/or a NEBOSH level or equivalent in health & safety.
Flexibility and willingness to travel across the property management portfolio throughout England and Wales.
