We are currently recruiting for a Driver Assistant to join our Distributions and Operations team based Stanlow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop within the driving sector. This role will involve you undertaking training for approximately 2 years, allowing you to gain an understanding of the responsibilities and duties of an AvantiGas Tanker Driver. 

The successful candidate will undertake a bespoke training plan including hands on work experience, HGV Class 2 Driving Licence, ADR; Core, Tanks and Class 2 and Certificate in Professional Competence.  

What you’ll be tasked with:
This role will require you to safely drive an LPG Bulk tanker to customer sites, safely delivering LPG to bulk tank installations; whilst adhering to strict LPG delivery procedures. Additional responsibilities will include adhering to tachograph and working time regulations and carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks, reporting any truck defects and safety concerns.  

What you need:
We are welcoming applications from candidates with a keen interest in Transport, educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths, ideally with prior experience of working in a customer facing role. It is also essential that you are physically fit as you will be required to attend an HGV Medical as the role involves manual handling of delivery hoses. 

You’ll be a confident driver with a full UK driving licence and due to ADR regulations you will need to be a minimum of 18 years old.   

A flexible working approach is essential as you will be required to work on average 48 hours per week to meet business needs, this may also involve weekend and bank holiday working.
