Job role: Farm Assistant/Tractor Driver
Location: Lincolnshire
Salary: Depending on experience
Job Type: Full Time; Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Select Appointments has a fantastic opportunity for a farm assistant to join our client based in Lincolnshire, the role will be on a full time permanent basis, you will contribute towards the high quality care of all equines through the provision and timely delivery of grassland care, grounds maintenance, fence and hedgerow care and general land management.
In return our client can offer you a competitive salary, 30 days holiday (inc bank holidays) on site parking and staff discount.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To contribute towards the high quality care of all equines through the provision and timely delivery of grassland care, grounds maintenance, fence and hedgerow care and general land management. To contribute towards the continual development and improvement of the land and its environmental management.
Main Duties:
* Carry out the delivery of forage to equines
* Keep accurate records of any deliveries
* Hold a full UK driving Licence
* Clear manure and bedding from barns, pads and shelters
* Support with the execution of the field treatment - such as harrowing, rolling weed spraying and over seeding.
* Be able to competently use a variety of farm vehicles and equipment
* Carry out general grounds maintenance as requested - repair and maintenance of fences, gates and water troughs
* Maintain a clean and safe working area, be responsible for inspecting all equipment you are using
* Be responsible for carrying out the Field sweeping rota
* Ensure you adhere to all Health and Safety procedures, policies and measures at all times.
Experience & Knowledge
* Tractor and machinery driving
* Experience of agriculture and farm work
* The necessary skills to enable manual tasks to be carried out efficiently and effectively
* Experience of routine grounds maintenance including fencing. Strimming and grass cutting
* Ability to cope with the physical demands of the job, i.e. lifting, carrying and working at height where necessary
Education & Qualifications
* A relevant agricultural driving certificate is ideal
* Teleporter license is ideal
* Other land based qualifications, including chainsaw certificate PA1, PA2 and PA6 is desirable
