Membership Support Volunteer - Leeds

Part time

Woodland Trust is one of the UK’s leading conservation charities. We have over 500,000 members and supporters and more than 1,000 sites all over the UK. We believe life’s better with trees. We protect and campaign on behalf of the UK’s woods, plant more trees, and restore ancient woodland, for the benefit of wildlife and people.

This is a great opportunity for those who have a particular interest in woods, nature and trees and for those who want to meet people in the heart of the community.

We are seeking to set up a team of volunteers to support our Membership Development Staff at events in their local area. This will initially be on a six month pilot basis in and around Leeds.

As a volunteer in this role you will be utilising your communication and people skills whilst working as part of a team of volunteers and Woodland Trust staff, aiming to engage visitors, deepen their awareness of the Trust’s work, and to provide information about the opportunities available to those interested in supporting our work. The role could include engaging families and children in craft activities such as, building basic bug hotels and badge making.   You will also need to help set up and take down stands, unpack and pack equipment and generally be “hands on” in helping out. All resources and activities will be provided.

You will be provided with regular support, information and training to help you succeed in this role.
