Location: Northampton
Summary
Our Client, a leading firm of Solicitors based in Northampton, are seeking to recruit an experienced Legal Finance Accounts Manager to join their highly prestigious firm on a full-time permanent basis.
A growing SME who last year turned over £7m, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Legal Cashier Accounts team. The successful candidate will possess solid legal sector experience, have working knowledge of SRA Accounts, bringing with them a strong set of skills with the ability to multitask. The ability to be self-motivated and professional is essential and you will possess superb communication skills. Reporting to the Finance Director, your role will also involve supporting the team to cover the following;
Duties / Responsibilities
*Processing & recording of all Client and Office receipts,
*Bills, payments & internal transfers,
*Working in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules,
*Daily bank reconciliations,
*Accounts to trial balance for two legal entities,
*Processing journals, accruals, prepayments & CAPEX,
*Completion of VAT returns,
*Oversee credit control & purchase ledger function,
*Liaising with auditors,
*Training & supervising a team of cashiers.
Reporting to: Finance Director
Requirements
*Five years plus experience working as manager of a finance team,
*Experience of working in legal partnerships,
*Essential: the ability to take on COFA role together with an understanding of corporate & personal tax,
*The ability to think strategically & work pro-actively on behalf of the practice,
*An effective report writer who is adept at making presentations,
*An ability to commute reliably to the office base is essential as is an ability to work extended hours on occasions when required,
*Clean or near-clean driving licence.
Salary
*Appointment Type: Permanent
*Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (subject to experience)
*Hours: full-time Mon-Fri 9:00am to 5:00pm (45mins lunch / 1hr on Friday)
*Holiday: 28 days + STAT
*Pension: 1:1 employee/employer ratio, matched up to 4%

*Income protection (pays a percentage of salary after 6 months sickness absence)
