Wiltshire College & University Centre is the main provider of further and higher education in Wiltshire and is fast on its way to becoming outstanding having achieved a good Ofsted grade in June 2018. Based across the county on 4 main campuses, the College offers an extensive range of courses at all levels and has ambitious plans for growth in a region with exciting potential.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Assessor in Business Management to support our growing business, management and accountancy team; supporting students through their apprenticeship journey. The main purpose of this role is to provide an outstanding student experience through work based teaching, learning and assessment, enabling students to maximise their potential. Within this role your main responsibilities will include maintaining effective partnerships with employers and their learners and curriculum teams, carrying out regular monitoring of learner environments and ensuring compliance with the college and other authorities with respect to policy and procedure associated with teaching, learning and assessment. You will also be expected to motivate learners to produce evidence required and achieve qualifications in a timely fashion by the agreed end date, ensure that learning environments are safe and that learner start, review and completion paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely manner.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant Business Management qualification and will have substantial experience in the industry. With an engaging approach, you will have the ability to motivate students and support them to achieve their full potential.

Wiltshire College & University Centre is committed to the protection of young people and vulnerable adults and to Safeguarding and Prevent and promoting the welfare of learners and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The College is accredited to the Disability Confident Employer award, part of this means a commitment to interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities.

Employment benefits include a total of 30 days annual leave per annum plus bank holidays and College closure days over the Christmas period, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, free on-site parking, staff development programme and a variety of in-house benefits such as gyms, coffee shop, restaurants and high-street discounts.

Early in 2017 the College was awarded more than £20million of government Local Growth Fund money via the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP) to invest in its Salisbury and Lackham campuses. The plans include redeveloping the Salisbury campus and introducing a new Life Science curriculum there, while Lackham will see the construction of an Agricultural Technology Centre and the introduction of a higher education centre which will house incubation space for land-based businesses.

The closing date for this role is midday on  Monday 19 August 2019.
