Chef - NVQ level 3 or equivalent
St John's Hospice
GBP20,553 per annum plus excellent benefits
37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday/weekends on a rota basis
We have an exciting new opportunity to join our catering team as a Chef at St John's Hospice. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen including leading a small team of catering assistants. Further duties include appraising staff and assisting them with their development where needed. We pride ourselves on our amazing catering team which provide high quality meals to patients, families, staff and visitors to the hospice.
Experience and qualifications required:
•Level 3 Food Hygiene essential, level 4 desirable
•City and Guilds 706/707 1&2 or 7100 or NVQ 3 in general catering/equivalent - essential
•Previous experience of managing kitchens
•Knowledge of regulation, e.g. COSSH, Health & Safety, HACCP
•NVQ / SVQ Level 4 General Catering or equivalent desirable

St John's is a Sue Ryder hospice, based in the village of Moggerhanger in Bedfordshire. We're here for people aged 18 and over who are living with conditions like cancer, heart failure and lung disease. We offer a range of support to communities across Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, from inpatient care in our 15 bed hospice to day services which help people stay at home longer and offer respite to carers. The location is serviced by the number 73 bus, however due to shifts patterns; it is recommended you have your own transport to get to and from work.
