Junior Counsel- Tribunal
I'm currently representing one of my clients who are a specialist within legal & HR services.
They are looking to recruit a Junior Counsel to join there No win No fee team.
Duties
* Working on various caseloads and conducting your own research's( you would need your own access to your own research library)
In addition to the cases, (They have approx. 10 cases in the next 6 months which is not full capacity) they would ask for the following;
* 2 written articles of approx. 400 words each, each week. (can be topics relating to the cases being researched - these are for their website so can see similar articles on there)
* 4 or five small articles for our newsletter (written for HR professionals this is not for clients and they have a set structure for 1x short article on best practice, 1 x case of the month, updates on law in employment law.
Any other research work as may be required by any other teams in a formal written opinion (an example may be on application of the working time regulations
* You also may need to attend meetings in the office with clients prior to cases if necessary, for case conference (although not for every case).
* This could be home based but you would have to attend the office for case meetings with the tribunal team least once a week to discuss cases coming up and bundles and where you're up to etc and also to agree the article topics for the following week
* Cases are mainly in Manchester and Leeds (although we do have in Watford, London and Cardiff and they could be anywhere nationally).
* They would pay reasonable expenses i.e. train or mileage allowance and maybe overnight stay if the hearing were across a few days
If you have any experience in advocacy this would be desirable.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 09.00am-5.30pm
