Interim Service Improvement Manager | Cheshire | GBP350 per day (Inside IR35)
The Organisation
Our client is an NHS organisation undertaking a wholescale Service Improvement programme to meet the financial and operational challenges facing it in the delivery of services and ensuring population health. As part of this programme, a Service Improvement Manager is now sought to help deliver this vision.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Service Improvement, the key elements of this requirement are
  • Help to coordinate the management of Improvement Programmes of work and to monitor and report on progress against performance indicators.
  • Provide line management support to the Service Improvement Facilitators and project support officers.
  • Lead redesign programmes to transform service provision to those based on needs and outcomes
  • Be responsible for the service delivery change projects with reference to knowledge and skills in the area of demand and capacity, the ability to analyse, interpret and compare options,and identify areas of improvement.
  • Support the Head of Improvement within a clinical leadershipmodel of service improvement and will be required to assist in the transition from a target driven performance frame work to develop a quality outcome framework and associated metrics for improvement.
  • Take a highly visible, proactive role in driving forward project teams including:
o Writing programme plans, in conjunction with improvement facilitators and clinical leads.
o Assisting facilitators in writing project plans
o Providing appropriate training and mentoring to project teams
o Ensuring focus on project milestones and deliverables, as appropriate
o Lead programme and project meetings
o Ensuring that any deviations from milestones are acted upon appropriately
  • Reviewing performance for allocated programme areas against project milestones, budget and planned savings.
  • Lead on waste reduction for allocated programme areas ensuring that cost improvement programmes are being met.
  • Ensure that key performance indicators are developed for each programme and assessed as part of the performance framework.
  • Manage service delivery change projects from the development of the design and preferred solution, through to project delivery.
  • As champion for service change and innovation, provide expert guidance and advice on embedding change in operational practice.
This is an interim role which could be delivered either Inside IR35, on a bank contract, or on a Fixed Term basis.
