Trainee Account Technologist

A successful Fresh Produce company are looking for a Trainee Account Technologist to join, support and grow in their thriving Technical team.
Reports to: Account Technologist/Account Source Technologist
Job purpose: To develop and maintain the Technical reports, Supplier Compliance Systems and Due diligence requirements. To build up the customer relationship whilst promoting and driving the business forward. Uphold the supplier reputation and deliver on quality and service KPI's to maintain sales and promote growth
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
* Maintain effective document control to detail, support in management systems and operating procedures including but not limited to Customer Policies and Specifications, Raw Material Specifications and risk assessments.
* Capture, analyse and report on technical data to drive positive outcomes and improvements. Using this data, provide analysis regarding seasonal/periodic reviews to measure success, interpret company's performance in comparison to competitors and contribute towards the data element on seasonal tenders/procurement plans. Support project teams with data as and when required.
* Support the process of delivering safe and legal produce to the customer by participating in grower compliance initiatives and advising the packhouse on process from a technical/compliance perspective.
* Support category leadership through value adding innovation and R&D (eg. variety development, packaging solutions, sustainability, data, points of difference) whilst at all times communicating effectively until the point of implementation.
* Cross functionally work to identify and implement opportunities that will maintain competitive advantage and create efficiencies throughout the supply chain.
* Ensure appropriate customer standards are implemented and maintained at grower packing sites, where product is supplied direct to customer depot, or packed in final customer packaging.
* Assist and support the Account and Account Source Technologist to maintain effective document control to detail, support and execute management systems and operations procedures.
* Support with customer and grower visits as and when required
* Assisting in site audits, monitoring the physical environment, working practices, behaviours and work standards to ensure compliance with management systems and operating systems. Utilise the outcome of the audits to drive positive actions/improvements
* Maintain effective document control to detail, support in management systems and operating procedures including but not limited to Customer Policies and Specifications, Raw Material Specifications and risk assessments.
Skills, know-how and experience:
Must have:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels internally and externally
* Ability to understand and interpret requirements
* Commercial awareness
* IT skills in order to process information and data for presenting in a professional and consistent format.
* Advanced excel and or other data handling software
* This is a customer facing role, so we are looking for someone who is personable and happy to be working with customers and suppliers
* Ideally you would be a Agri Graduate, or similar (Food science, etc.)
* Proven experience working with IT systems, Excel, etc....
Desirable:
* Experience of working in the fresh produce industry
