About us…

At Together Trust we believe everybody deserves an equal chance in life. There are no exceptions. We provide a wide range of support services including fostering, residential, community and family support. We also provide specialist educational support through our schools and colleges.

At Together Trust we’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people we support. It’s a commitment we require from all of our staff and volunteers.

We follow a robust safer recruitment process and all successful applicants will go through recruitment checks. If you’re successful we’ll need you to have an enhanced DBS check. For all roles we’ll also need a minimum of three references. Depending on the role you apply for, we might also need to request references from each employer where you have worked with young people or vulnerable adults.

We’ll also need to know about any breaks in your employment history with evidence from documents like birth certificates or passports. If you’re successful and have worked outside the UK for any longer than three months in the last five years, we’d also need to complete a foreign DBS or code of conduct check.

We now have an opportunity for a passionate and highly organised communications officer to join our friendly team!

As our communications officer…

You will play a key part in planning and delivering communications to raise awareness of the work and projects that we take part in. You'll be confident enough to write, edit, coordinate and publish content through various channels including our own website.

You will project manage, monitor and respond to the media, plan and create multimedia content and materials including info graphics and videos, so a good eye for detail is essential!

Working collaboratively with the communications and marketing team and alongside wider teams across the trust you will build positive relationships, contribute to The Together Trust's web presence, lead on big projects such as our new brand, website and policy work.

You must have strong digital skills, a passion for communications, political lobbying and experience of working across different channels.

About You...

You are caring, passionate, positive, professional and supportive. You should be resilient and determined to make a difference within our organisation through the power of connecting people. We need a problem solver who can encourage our people to think outside the box. This is a challenging role which requires taking on a challenge of communicating to over 900 staff across 47 different services. You will be educated and hold a QCF/NVQ level 3 or 4 and have proven experience in a similar role.

This is a Blue Octopus Recruitment Ltd vacancy who are operating as an employment agency. Once you have clicked to apply for this vacancy, we will then send you more information on the role including a copy of the application form via email.
