Our Tenancy Sustainment Officer role is fast paced and rewarding, which allows flexibility in the approach to the role, given the wide range of tenancies available to our customers. With demonstrable experience in a customer facing role, you will thrive in a position that deals with creating high-quality, tailor made tenancy sustainment offers. In particular, the role will involve effectively engaging and working with our customers in high rise flats to develop action plans alongside other teams in the business, with the aim of improving our offer to them in line with Grenfell recommendations.

We require a person who pays close attention to detail and has the ability to make informed decisions through investigating and recommending outcomes on requests for assignments, successions, and other amendments to tenancies. The successful person will carry out inspections on properties, communal areas and housing owned public open spaces to ensure that they are maintained and kept to a reasonable standard and comply with fire safety regulations, and the role will liaise closely with other teams within the Trust and contractors to keep our standards exceptional.

The ability to identify housing management and household welfare issues and any breaches of tenancy is also crucial, and it will be paramount that these issues are referred on to the relevant colleagues or other agencies.

What really sets this job apart from the others is what we do as an organisation. There is rarely a dull moment in Housing. We are simultaneously trying to meet the needs of a diverse customer demographic, working out how to help an ageing society to live long healthy lives at home, deciding what to build and where to build it to make sure the right kinds of homes and buildings are available at the right time for the people who need them most. If you are passionate about making a difference in society, look no further.

You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car.

You’re good at:

  • Working within a customer-focused environment.
  • Effectively engaging with a variety of customers, many of which are vulnerable and have complex needs, in ways which are best suited to the individual and developing productive relationships
  • Displaying excellent emotional intelligence and empathy
  • Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Managing your time well, with the ability to prioritise, cope well under pressure and meet targets.
  • Proficiently using Microsoft Office packages

The Trust is committed to recruiting a diverse workforce and we aim to ensure that we are an accessible and inclusive workplace for all.

The Trust has a flexible working approach to ensure that staff can achieve an excellent work-life balance.
