As Corporate Responsibility Manager in the NERC Sustainability Team you will be required to take a strategic leadership role for ensuring Social Responsibility is considered across NERC owned investments, in particular; Employment creation and skills; Equality Diversity and Inclusion; Community and engagement and Healthy workplace themes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading team that will demonstrate NERC leadership and drive by developing, implementing and championing NERC's Sustainability Strategy and associated Responsibility Framework, with a particular focus on delivering plans, commitments and actions associated with the Social Responsibility agenda. You will bring life to a new approach and strategy and put in place effective baselining and benchmarking methodologies and engage communities across NERC investments (e.g. NERC Head Office, Research Centres and HEIs) to ensure effective implementation. Part of this role will be to shape, and communicate, corporate and social responsibility ambitions to engage NERC staff, stakeholders, grant-holders and drive behavior change. NERC (part of UK Research and Innovation, UKRI) is the largest funder of environmental science in the UK. We invest GBP300 million each year in research, training and innovation through UK universities and research centres. Our scientists' study and monitor the whole planet from pole to pole, from deep Earth and oceans to upper atmosphere and space. Our Headquarters in Swindon provides the corporate policy, planning and administrative focus for NERC. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- excellent project delivery, organisational & prioritising skills with excellent attention to detail and a pragmatic tenacity to drive projects forward
- experience of managing the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda in complex organisational settings demonstrating knowledge, experience and understanding of equality and diversity legislation and best practice
- sound analytical skills, IT proficiency and the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely
- demonstrable knowledge of Corporate/Social Responsibility related legislation and associated statutory reporting requirements.
