Commissioning and Policy Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning and Policy Officer to support the work of the PCC and her priorities for Avon and Somerset.

The role of Commissioning and Policy Officer offers a chance to join an innovative and ambitious team and be part of supporting a wide range of commissioning and policy work. Initially the main focus of the role will be supporting OPCC initiatives to tackle serious violence. Following the publication of the government’s Serious Violence Strategy and recent investment in this area, the PCC wants local agencies to deliver real change by maximising recently allocated Home Office funding to establish an Avon and Somerset Violence Reduction Unit (VRU). By working with OPCC colleagues, the Constabulary and other partners you will play an important part in making that happen. Beyond this, you will work alongside and support the Commissioning and Partnerships team which covers a wide range of portfolios including the commissioning of services for victims and offenders, scrutiny of police performance, partnership working and much more.
