My client, an international food manufacturer who supply a broad range of bakery products across the UK and Europe have an opportunity for an experienced Production Operative to join their busy team in Worcester.
You will be responsible for leading a team of operatives, taking ownership of processes and overseeing a variety of manufacturing activities. You will set the highest standards for all activities and operators within your area of control and using modern machinery and technology throughout the process
The successful Area Owner/ Production Operative will be responsible for the following;
Create a safe working environment by ensuring the working area is immaculately maintained and the appropriate information is available
Setting up Machinery, calibrating equipment to monitoring gauges, attending to machines so they operate correctly and produce the desired results.
Continuously monitor and check the quality of product and ensure adherence by all colleagues to HACCP and OPRP policies within your area.
Investigating and reporting problems - Help to reduce wastage and production downtime by Investigating and reporting problems. Ensure all relevant paperwork and H&S documents are completed accordingly.
Set up cleaning and maintenance schedules to prevent problems by keeping machines in good working order
Forward plan with the Shift Leader all future manning requirements to ensure required levels of cover for sickness, holidays and flex-up are met in the most cost effective manner.
Key Requirements;
Clear understanding of regulatory and best practice safe operation of a food manufacturing operation
Numerical skills sufficient to accurately calculate in shift and end of shift performance, interpret basic data involved in statistical process control charting
Numerical skills sufficient to accurately calculate in shift and end of shift performance, interpret basic data involved in statistical process control charting
You will be required to stand for a prolonged amount of time and need to bend, lift, carry, and stretch to perform their duties therefore you must possess adequate fitness and stamina
Attention to detail - maintaining a good focus enables hearing a machine making a "wrong" sound or noticing that the quality of the finished item isn't up to par
Independence -perform the job with limited supervision
Computer competency - ability to enter data into the company's system, keep track of inventory, create activity logs, or write up inspection results
Qualifications;
NVQ Level 2 Food hygiene is desirable
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Qualification desirable
Experience of food manufacturing/ production is desirable, but not essential
Salary: Up to GBP25,000
Working Hours: Various shift patterns available
Shifts may vary based on operating hours, some production operators work evenings, nights, or early mornings rather than a traditional daytime schedule
