11237 - Project Manager Job Spec
Location: Northamptonshire

Summary
Our Client based in Northamptonshire, part of an international group of companies and market leader in its sector, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting directly to the MD, the successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of complex FFE projects. Working in conjunction with the Logistics Manager & Sales Team, you will be facilitating the fulfilment process through to completion, managing all strategic planning functions & technical aspects of each contract including site surveys, contract management, CDM and H&S issues.


Duties / Responsibilities
*Co-ordinate, manage & implement specifications, procurement & supply of product solutions & equipment, fully utilising available resources,
*Manage and assume the responsibility for communication between Customer, Sales, Design & Logistics dept's, ensure the successful and timely completion of each project,
*As necessary, carry out site surveys and visits to ensure the success of each project, taking full responsibility for final measurements and fit,
*Create and maintain Gantt and CPA charts to achieve customer's programme of works using Project Management software,
*Encourage and support all dedicated resources in the use of key software systems, including MS Project, Excel, SAP and CRM System,
*Monitor / control costs and margins on each project, achieving maximum returns in line with ECA expectations,
*Maintain communication with Accounts dept, keeping them appraised of project status / aged debts, ensuring that customer relations are maintained throughout debt collecting process,
*Managing main & sub-contractors, negotiating terms & conditions with a view to limiting the company's liabilities and exposure regarding LAD's and pre-ambles to main contract,
*As required, assisting Sales & Design dept's in pre-tender evaluation of terms & conditions, producing proposed method statements & CDM documentation,
*Provide technical support to Regional & Area Sales Managers, assisting in major contract bids,
*Assist in the management of supplier performance on a project-by-project basis and support of Projects Admin. Record details through supplier appraisal system.

Other Requirements
*A reasonable amount of additional (unpaid) hours will be expected during peaks of activity to ensure business objectives are met,
*Any related adhoc duties to meet the changing needs of the business,
*Manage your own performance in terms of timekeeping, attendance, accuracy of work, quality and compliance with procedures,
*Comply with all legal requirements in respect of health & safety,
*Demonstrate good human relations both within the team and to other departments.

Requirements
Essential -
*Education: Minimum of five GCSE's (or equivalent) at Grade C or above incl. Maths & English. A-Levels or equivalent.
*Experience: proven experience of Contract Management, CDM & Risk Assessments, with two years plus experience in project administration / management.
*Key project management skills with an ability to lead & manage a project, making quick and accurate decisions,
*Committed to delivering maximum quality of service,
*Demonstrate integrity & fairness when dealing with customers, suppliers & colleagues, being assertive when required but also empathetic & understanding,
*Possess good analytical skills with the ability to produce reports and figures,
*Excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability adapt, prioritise and work under pressure,
*Attention to detail, able to work on own initiative and as a part of a team in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
*Excellent English language communication skills (telephonic, verbal & written) and numeracy skills,
*Systems: Experience with MS Office Suite, CDM.

Preferred -
*Education: NVQ, ONC or HNC in a relevant subject (or equivalent).
*Experience: have worked within the building / construction industry with a working knowledge of JCT standard forms of contracts. A demonstrable ability to work within a Quality Management Systems (QMS) environment.


Salary
*Appointment Type: Permanent
*Hours: Full-time, 9:00am - 5:00pm OR 8:30am - 4:30pm
*Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum (subject to experience)
*Car Allowance (£4,800 per annum)
*Holiday: 30 Days FTE (22 + STAT)
