Commercial Operations Executive
InYourArea, a new product from Reach PLC, is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and customer driven Commercial Operations Executive to help us launch, operationalise & grow our new monetisation products.
InYourArea is the UK's leading local news, information and community platform. Our aim is to inform communities by aggregating hyperlocal news and data, and empower them to make a difference locally by giving them the tools to make their voices heard.
We look to support local journalism by providing tools and information to improve local storytelling and we aim to offer local and national business a set of high value products to promote their businesses.
As a team, we focus on operating entirely lean, being innovation-driven and doing so rapidly.
Although the product is relatively new, we are in a high growth phase and looking to grow the team so that we can continue delivering new innovative features and to integrate the InYourArea platform into the wider business.
We are Reach because it's what we do.
Every day our newsbrands - national and regional, in print and online - reach millions of people up and down the country. We are the UK's largest news publisher, with influential national newsbrands such as the Daily Mirror, Daily Express, Sunday People, Daily Record, and more than 100 distinguished regional titles.
Our brands have a long heritage of being trusted sources of news and information, with our editorial conviction and high standards of journalism providing audiences with timely information and opinion across multiple platforms.
Last year we sold 620 million newspapers, with 5 million readers of one of our brands each month. Our network of over 70 websites provide 24/7 coverage of news, sport and showbiz stories, with 8 billion page views per year.
We average 21 million mobile visitors - that's 60% of the entire mobile market. Each month we attract over 32 million unique visitors. That's more than our competitors. You will help us further increase our digital audience into 2019.
This is not a typical Operations role. We have built our own self serve advertising platform designed for non technical users in local businesses. You'll be responsible for ensuring monetisation opportunities on InYourArea are delivered to a standard that exceeds our client's expectations.
You'll be responsible for day to day delivery and management of digital advertising campaigns on the InYourArea platform. This includes answering client queries, helping with troubleshooting & preparing creative assets.
Working closely with product managers, developers, designers and journalists you will help identify bugs that need fixing and new features that will improve the user experience for our advertisers and users.
You'll help introduce new ad products to market with operational input & implementation support.
You'll provide input and guidance for regional and national commercial stakeholders around campaign best practice, platform statistics and operational expertise.
You'll maintain necessary technical knowledge to understand the full campaign delivery process, enabling accurate and proficient creative quality assurance, trafficking and troubleshooting of all campaigns
We are a small and cohesive team, and we always optimise for shortest time to market, which often results in releasing working, usable but imperfect products that we iterate on and improve. You have to be comfortable with this style of working.
The Ideal Candidate
You need to have commercial experience with digital advertising and familiarity with the basic concepts e. can you explain what a viewable ad impression is? We will consider people with similar transferable skills who have a genuine enthusiasm for the role.
We are looking for someone who gets a kick from satisfying customers so experience in customer facing roles would be great.
You'll also need to be a great communicator so having experience explaining technical concepts to non technical people and vice versa should be second nature for you.
Familiarity using spreadsheets, creating charts and interpreting data.
If you have some design or image manipulation experience with tools like Photoshop that would be a plus.
