Role - Graduate Highways Engineer
Salary - GBP23,000 - GBP25,000 per annum(depending on experience)
Location - Didcot, Oxfordshire
Are you a recent engineering graduate looking to get into a transport planning and engineering design consultancy?
Atlas Employment are delighted to be working with a long-standing client based in the Didcot, Oxfordshire area. The team are highly motivated and committed to the delivery of successful projects for their clients. This ethos has resulted in an expanding workload and the requirement for another capable graduate Engineer.
This company's breadth of skills and experienced staff creates an excellent environment for new staff to undertake varied and rewarding tasks and expand their knowledge and skills. The company has a strong commitment to training ranging from 'on the job training' in new software and design techniques to training programmes for Chartered status and external short courses.
What will you be doing as a Graduate Highways Engineer?
Site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application advice
Design of roads, junctions and drainage
Taking on the preparation of preliminary and detailed design drawings
Liaising with other members of the team, local authorities and clients effectively
Production of pre and post-planning technical reports
Junction capacity modelling
Road Safety Auditing
Utility Assessments
You should apply for the role of Graduate Highways Engineer if you have???
A qualification within an appropriate Engineering degree and ideally be aiming to become Incorporated or Chartered
Willingness to gain experience working in a transport planning/engineering design consultancy (Previous experience not essential)
Willingness to interface with consultancy design and construction teams utilising competent communication skills both orally and in writing
The ability to learn under supervision preparation of horizontal and vertical highways design
Strong self-motivation and initiative
The ability to learn relevance of highway planning procedures, UK design principles and standards
Appreciation of commercial aspects of a business
Easy transport routes from; Didcot, Abingdon, Sutton Courtenay, Culham, Brightwell-Cum-Sotwell, Oxford, Wallingford, Henley-on-Thames, Reading, Witney, Bicester, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, London, Middlesex, Birmingham, Wiltshire, Windsor, Warwick
