Stores Operative HMS COLLINGWOOD

Job Purpose

Based at HMS Collingwood, Fareham, the Primary Task is to deliver high customer service standards by managing the storekeeping, ordering and issue/return of Adventure Training clothing and equipment. Travel to and delivery at one of our other three sites in Portsmouth and Gosport may be required to support output across the contract. Secondary tasks include day-to-day issue, handling and processing of Naval Stores, including Uniform & Specialist clothing using MOD IT applications to place orders, receipts, and accounting for MOD Supply Chain items will also be required. Training will be given. The successful candidate may be asked to qualify as a Fork Lift Driver when the needs of the company dictate and training will also be provided where appropriate. Travel may be required to undertake initial and continuity training.

A reliable and competent person with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Confident with good professional ability and either demonstrable track record of delivering quality storekeeping and administration support and ability to work unsupervised or show an aptitude for training. Self- motivated and able to use own initiative, responsive to company and customer requirements, pro-active and versatile with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business. Ability to operate effectively with integrity at all levels, coupled with good written and numerical skills, and:

Full UK driving licence - desirable

Previous MoD Supply Chain/MJDI database knowledge - desirable

Qualified Forklift driving capability - desirable

Working knowledge of MS Office applications - essential

Required to achieve MoD Security Clearance and proof of Right to Work in UK essential

Required to wear approved company workwear and PPE

Dangerous Goods Function Specific (Consigner) qualified (desirable - training can be given).

This contract operates a 37.5 hour working week between the hours of 0730 and 1700 Mon to Fri only.
