SUPPORTING OLDER PEOPLE OFFICER
16 hours a week – Temporary up to March 2020
As North Wales’ largest housing association, Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd provide quality, affordable homes and services to our tenants, and strive to protect and develop the culture and heritage of the communities we serve as we do so.
As a registered social landlord our primary purpose is to provide affordable rented homes to those in housing need. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation registered and regulated by the Welsh Government.
With over 6,300 homes, we are responsible for the management and maintenance of these properties.
As a Supporting Older People Officer, you would be expected to deliver the activities of our Domestic Assistance service - Aros Adra - to older and impaired customers in order to enable independent living and reduce social isolation.
Domestic Assistance includes undertaking various household tasks for people who experience difficulty in doing these themselves such as: cooking, food preparation, washing, ironing, essential shopping, vacuuming, sweeping floors, dusting, washing up dishes, cleaning bathrooms, and changing bed linen.
It is essential that the post holder is able to identify, assess and resolve problems innovatively and quickly, and is able to assess individual personal needs in a sensitive way. The ability to speak Welsh is essential in this role.
