Mentoring Advisor (Leeds & Sheffield)

8.5 Month initial contract with potential to be extended to 4 years

Job Responsibilities

To deliver high quality mentoring advice and assistance to a portfolio of ambitious business owners and senior managers of companies looking for inspirational Mentoring for personal and professional development. The role will assess the Mentoring needs of eligible businesses people, profile them and their requirements and facilitate match making with appropriate experienced Mentors in the programmes mentoring pool.

The Mentoring for Growth Advisors primary responsibility is to ensure that the Mentoring service is delivered in order to produce the maximum impact in terms of assisting mentees to reach their full personal and professional potential, which will subsequently deliver business growth, improved productivity, outputs and outcomes in terms of improved performance, increased GVA, new jobs created and jobs safeguarded.

Key Responsibilities

Handling enquiries via, phone and email, initially assessing the growth potential and business needs of Mentees using appropriate tools, processes and systems where required.
Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with Mentee's and Mentors and ensuring that potential Mentoring for Growth Programme Mentees and their companies comply with the project eligibility criteria by ensuring that initial eligibility checks, prior to formal assessment and Mentor match making.
Ensuring a Mentee's company has had an in-depth business growth assessment carried out using approved methods to capture baseline data from the SMEs to identify wider needs, which can be addressed through developing a growth action planEssential Skills

Sales and Account management skills
Project Management skills
Presentation skills both written and oral
Excellent communication and networking skills
Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills
Well-developed IT skills, including an understanding of computerised management information systems, spreadsheets, diary management, and e-mail.Qualifications / Experience

At least degree level business education, or degree level qualification with a Management body or the relevant business experience to match those
Wide ranging business experience in the private sector, including at a senior management or Director level
Proven track record in managing the range of business issues associated with periods of business growth
Experience of working as, or with, Managers within a growth company or companies
Proven track record in working effectively in a professional team/s
Private/public sector experience of working with growth companies
Proven track record in designing and delivering Growth plans to meet customers' needs
Professional experience and approach to managing and delivering business assessment, advice and development
Practical experience of diagnosing business issues and agreeing effective strategic business action plans
Account and CRM database management
