About the role
We’re looking for a Legionella Risk Assessor/Water Systems Technician to join the NWG Total Water Solutions team covering the South Essex/ South East/ M25 Corridor South/ Bognor Regis/ West Sussex areas.
You’ll provide our commercial clients, including government bodies and housing associations, with a bespoke service for the purpose of ensuring their responsibilities under ACOP L8 – The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Hot and Cold Water Systems are met and maintained by provision of Legionella Risk Assessments on basic water systems and a monitor & maintenance service.
We’re looking for you to maintain excellent working relationships with client and carry out Water System Monitor & Maintenance programmes as required in order to meet customers’ requirements and in line with HSE Guidelines.
You’ll be responsible for the provision of Legionella Risk Assessments on basic water systems and reviews of Risk Assessments on more complex systems and you’ll be interpreting the information obtained during the monitoring of premises hot and cold water systems to ensure areas of non-compliance are identified and reported to the client. We’re looking for you to ensure appropriate decisions are made concerning identified water system anomalies, along with taking routine samples in accordance with quality procedures within designated work area.
You’ll be updating and managing our electronic asset management database and Risk Assessment software and ensuring ISO 17025, 14001 and 9001 procedures are followed to Legionella Code of Practice accreditation, as well as H&S procedures are followed and all activities comply with the legionella ACOP (L8) and/or ISO 17025.
We’ll provide you with a company van and fuel card to help you get around the region and sites that you’ll be covering, along with a company uniform too.
About You
To be successful in the role, we can’t say how many years’ experience you need to have, but we do need to see proven experience of working in this environment and providing this service in the past, so we’re looking for you to have proven and demonstrable recent experience of the role. You’ll have excellent customer service skills, including written and verbal as well as the ability to work unsupervised and organise and prioritise your own workload.
We’re looking for you to have proven experience and knowledge of the principles of L8 ACoP and HSG274, along with a working knowledge of how to carry out Legionella Risk Assessments on basic water systems and reviews of more complex systems. You’ll have proven experience of carrying out monitoring & maintenance tasks such, as TMV Servicing and water analysis sampling, as this is a large part of this role.
You’ll be experienced in working alone and being a self-starter, along with experience of completing all related documentation in a timely manner to meet KPI deadlines and ensuring samples are returned to the laboratory within the relevant timescales.
We’re looking for you to be flexible enough to deal with the varying demands of the field work requirements of Water Systems i.e. working away from home, as this role will cover a large commercial client area in the South East/West Sussex/South Essex area.
You’ll be a great communicator and able to impart information promptly, check understanding and operate openly and honestly, along with bringing innovation to the role through looking for and highlighting potential improvements to ways of working. We’re looking for you to have a full valid driving licence is essential as you will be visiting different locations within the UK, with some staying away from home periods.
