The role of a Leisure Assistant is a key role in the launch our brand new Sports facilities which are available to be used by our local community for external lettings during the evening and at weekends, and within the day during the school holidays. This is a 'hands-on' role.

The post holder will work across the weekends and evenings. Flexibility is essential. There will be some key holder responsibilities connected to this role.

Responsibilities:

• To be a front of house presence to ensure an exceptional customer experience for our clients.
• To assist in the promotion, organisation and delivery of sports coaching/ children's parties/events /activities/ etc.
• To assist with the co-ordination of short term events/activities and manage day to day administrative and logistical issues as required.
• To complete daily/weekly facility tasks as directed and ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facilities.
• To assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities including the assembly and dismantling of equipment in a timely and safe manner.
• To undertake minor maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• To ensure that all areas are kept clean and tidy and presentable at all times and suitable for use by external customers.
• To answer the telephone and deal with enquiries from members of the public.
• To assist with taking bookings and payments.
• To maintain storage areas in a clean and tidy condition and in accordance with store plans.
• To be responsible for locking and unlocking designated areas.

Key Qualities:

• An interest in leisure and sport
• Ability to perform administrative tasks such as checking schedules and taking bookings.
• Previous work with children and young persons is desirable
• A first aid qualification is desired however can be gained whist in post
• Experience of arranging the set-up of parties and leisure activities.
• Physically Fit.
• Reliable.
• Competent with IT (for taking bookings and checking schedules
• Critical eye for high standards of cleanliness and presentation of facilities.
