Policy and Advocacy Manager
Birmingham
Fixed term contract until August 2020 (with possibility of extension)
£32,000 - £35,000 + Benefits
A national partner of Sport England, London Marathon Charitable Trust and Spirit of 2012, Sporting Equals exists to actively promote greater involvement in sport and physical activity by disadvantaged communities - particularly the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) population. We have a network of over 5,000 organisations and have strong links with the wider sport and physical activity sectors, including governing bodies of sport and Active Partnerships.
We are looking for an experienced Policy and Advocacy Manager to support our work influencing the sport and physical activity sector to increase opportunities for BAME communities to get involved in sport at their chosen level.
In this key role, you’ll provide race-equality based policy analysis and develop compelling race-equality policy positions, as well as advocating those positions to decision makers in the sport and physical activity sector. You will also need to ensure that this work complements other policy and advocacy priorities across the Sporting Equals team.
Our ideal Policy and Advocacy Manager will be an exceptional and committed individual, able to apply their skills and experience to improve outcomes for BAME and faith communities through the rigorous application of evidence to change policy and practice in the sport and physical activity sector.
Benefits include 25 days annual leave + 8 public holidays (pro rata) and a contributory pension scheme.
