Our client is looking for a Senior Buyer to start as soon as possible. This is a Permanent position from the start.
Your duties are -
Managing and controlling suppliers and the delivery of materials to satisfy production programmes.
Detailed scheduling (and quantifying) of materials from internal design drawings.
Ensure materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered in line with the production programme.
Support the establishment of strategic relationships with key suppliers and work to realise value engineering and CI opportunities.
Foster close working relationships with associated departments e.g. Design, Production, etc.
Expedite orders and maintain ERP data, static and dynamic.
Pursue a policy of continuous improvement and strive to drive down external spend.
Looking at Material Costs to ensure KPI targets are met.
Ensuring compliance to internal governance processes
You must have
* CIPS
* Minimum 5 years previous experience in a Purchasing role.
* Experienced in the procurement of building and construction related materials.
* Competent level in use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and use of a proprietary ERP system such as SAP, JD Edwards, IFS or similar..
* Proven track record of controlling and reducing external spend
