The Role

The Royal British Legion's care services include registered care homes, day care services, and Admiral Nursing services. Our strength lies in the care and commitment of our valued employees and consequently The Legion invests heavily in their training and continuous learning and development. We are seeking to appoint a Practice Development Facilitator (PDF) to deliver and facilitate a range of mandatory and elective training, personal development and qualification to our staff at Galanos House care home in the market town of Southam in South Warwickshire. As an embedded learning and development practitioner you have a unique and crucial role in enabling our colleagues to achieve their career potential and to enhance the quality of care we provide to our beneficiaries and their families.

It is an exciting time to be joining The Legion; this is a new opportunity created as part of the charity's growth and development strategy. Reporting to the Quality and Innovation Manager, you will work collaboratively as a core member of the care home management team and engage widely with colleagues across the organisation. You will assist the Registered Manager to identify learning needs and accordingly deliver the appropriate training and induction, support personal development, evaluate and evidence effective outcomes, and inform the care services L&D Manager's annual plans.

You will ideally be a qualified health or social care professional or can evidence related health and social care experience and qualification. You will hold ILM, D31/32 or A1 qualification or equivalents, evidence professional updating and a proven track record of delivering L&D services to an adult workforce in the regulated health and social care sector. You will have experience of procuring and managing external training and education providers, and arranging learning support for persons with individual needs. You will be an effective communicator with strong influencing and relationship building skills and be customer service focussed. You will be self motivated, creative, adaptable and responsive in order to achieve and to inspire others in this dynamic caring environment.

Please note that in order to meet the needs of staff working 24 hour shift patterns you will be required to work some evenings and weekends.

The role is subject to relevant employment checks, including Enhanced DBS Clearance.
