Job Description
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Relief Security Officer will be responsible for Security Services that will provide access control to the premises ensuring that a safe and secure environment is provided for all the clients based on the designated site and any guests and visitors that attend the site.
Security Officer daily duties include:
* The Security Officer will remain vigilant and present a welcoming atmosphere to staff and visitors entering site (Meet and greet role)
* Is to have a comprehensive working knowledge of assignment instructions complete with all current amendments and temporary additions, writing of incident reports and written recording of information.
* The Security Officer is to be thoroughly conversant with telephone, alarm, IT systems, CCTV and any other systems or equipment used in the course of their duties.
* The Security Officer will ensure that proper clear written entry is made in the DOB when he/she is going on break and back from break.
* Is to detect and prevent any occurrences that may lead to loss by fire, flood, plant failure, theft, vandalism or any other form of crime.
* The reporting line of the Security Officer is direct to the Site Supervisor and dedicated support or help desks.
* The Security Officer is to assist the on-site client during emergency at which time; their role will be as directed by the on-site client
* Is to detect and prevent situations that may lead to accident or personal injury and to ensure that any such situation is promptly reported.
* Respond to requests for assistance
To be successful as a Security Officer you will have:
* FAW - First Aid at work certificate (desirable but not essential)
* CCTV knowledge/Fire alarm systems
* IT - Good knowledge of emails and Excel
* SIA License
* A full five-year checkable employment / education history will be required
* The Security Officer will have experience of delivering excellent Customer Service
* Previous experience in a security environment (desirable but not essential)
* Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal
* Have an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
* Own vehicle/mode of transport (desirable but not essential)
Must be able to drive covering Bristol, Swindon and Gloucester. Fuel allowance to be discussed at the interview stage.
