Are you passionate about supporting an end to Rough Sleeping? We have a variety of exciting opportunities across London to join our assessment hub teams.


St Mungo’s Rough Sleeping services provide a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. We have expanded our work in our assessment hubs and are looking for Assessment & Reconnection Workers to join our teams across London to ensure as many rough sleepers as possible receive a rapid response, a full assessment of their needs and an offer of help to move away from rough sleeping.


As an Assessment & Reconnection Worker, you will be part of a busy team environment working closely with those affected by rough sleeping. You will carry out comprehensive assessments of new rough sleeper clients or those at risk of rough sleeping, and provide a personalised case management service for those who need to be reconnected, turning assessment recommendations into a practical action plans which fully involves the client.


You will develop a knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefit legislation and other matters relevant to support the moving on of our clients. These are key roles and many of our managers began their careers as an Assessment & Reconnection Worker.


*In this vital role, it is essential that you are flexible to work on the weekly 24/7 rota to ensure services are accessible to those who are homeless, at the time they most need our support. The shifts are a mix of early, late and night shift.


This role will suit those with experience of working at pace in a public facing environment. You will need some understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerable people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services. If you have good communication skills, are able to work with others whilst managing your own time and have the ability to empower individuals to make positive changes and a willingness to develop these valuable skills we want to hear from you.
