Marketing Effectiveness Customer Success Consultant

Role Objective: Retain and grow current client r evenue by being a trusted advisor on Media Performance Measurement, driving growth and overall success for the client's business.

Help your client grow their business by partnering with them to draw compelling insights from Nielsen data, and help grow Nielsen's business by securing revenue from our existing client base. The Marketing Effectiveness Customer Success Consultant will be curious, self-motivated and combine analytical thinking with commercial acumen.
Leverage statistical analysis to understand past trends and predict the future effect of marketing tactics on sales. You will create concise and compelling insights about brand, market, industry and category trends in response to your client's business needs. You will work with a cross functional range of stakeholders to help our clients make smarter decisions when investing their marketing budget and ensure that the client is achieving maximum benefit from their Nielsen investment, in order to secure future revenue.

The Customer Success Consultant will partner with modelling teams to develop econometric models that incorporate numerous factors impacting sales performance (media, pricing, promotions, weather, seasonality, economic conditions, category trends, regulatory changes and competitive activities) to help isolate what's really driving consumers' purchase decisions and identify the most effective strategies to achieve clients' profitability objectives.

Presenting often to senior client stakeholders and interacting with a broad spectrum of client functions from marketing to procurement, this role provides a platform to influence client strategy at the highest levels and demands strong commercial and analytical capability.

Main Duties

Expanding Revenue

  • Renew/protect current client engagements, limit churn and seek opportunities to upsell within current business relationships
  • Propose & secure qualitative MMM (Marketing Mix Modelling), MTA (Multi-Touchpoint Attribution), Lift/MPA (Matched-Panel Analysis), and other custom research projects to meet client briefing and needs
  • Understand the competitive landscape and articulate a compelling sales pitch for Nielsen services
  • Have a strong working knowledge of the client business priorities and the role we can play in supporting these goals (eg. participating in business cycles such as strategic brand planning & annual media planning etc.)

Earning Client Trust and Building Relationships:

  • Drive client satisfaction through the development of long lasting client relationships resulting in repeat purchases
  • First point of contact for the client relationship, accountable for managing expectations with regard to analytical deliverables on both a day to day and more strategic basis
  • Ability to drive added value to the client directly through onsite presence where applicable

Delivering Insight:

  • Build analysis/story from modeled outputs for MMM, MTA and/or Lift projects to answer client's business questions
  • Become an expert in Marketing Performance Measurement and Nielsen's products(MMM, MTA, MPA, other custom analytics)
  • Make recommendations on the basis of rigorous analysis leveraging multiple data sources, sound business understanding and commercial awareness
  • Support our clients in their media planning - via strategic analysis and simulator tools
  • Be prepared to challenge client hypothesis and bring a new perspective
  • Be curious and engage with the client industry, their categories and key market trends

Project/Workload Management and Prioritisation:

  • Work with modelling teams to ensure on time, in scope delivery of analysis which meets client's business questions
  • Manage workload independently and effectively prioritise client commitments alongside internal commitments
  • Maintain a clear communication pathway with the key stakeholders

Solution Knowledge:

  • Mastery in Marketing Mix Modelling, Multi-Touchpoint Attribution, Lift/Matched-Panel Analysis, and other custom analytics approaches
  • A strong working knowledge of tools and systems required for role, such as Marketing Planner Optimizer (MPO), Marketing Budget Explorer (MBX), Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI, and Salesforce
  • End-to-end ownership of project from sell-in, set-up with both internal and external teams, data collection and specification, statistical and commercial model validation, analytical analysis, and presentation creation to the final debrief and consultation to the client
  • Familiar with other Marketing Effectiveness practice areas and the business issues which they can support
  • Thorough understanding of clients' licensed data

Thought-Leadership:

  • Leverage existing thought leadership with clients ensuring it is made relevant to their business
  • Proactively develop thought leadership to be shared both internally and externally with a view to addressing client business issues and promoting new thinking

Development of Others:

  • Mentor and coach both on and offshore colleagues to produce solutions to meet client business issues
  • Share your skills with others to support their development and showcase best practice throughout the team

Collaboration:

  • Work continuously with Client Service teams to ensure that leads and opportunities are passed on, pertinent information about clients is shared, account strategy is aligned and the relevant people are consulted and/or informed of key activity on an account
  • Identify, develop and share Nielsen best practice
  • Work closely with other parts of the Marketing Effectiveness business to differentiate the solutions and deliver integrated insight across the product portfolio

Role Requirements: (Skills and Competencies)

  • Exceptionally strong analysis, insight generation and visualization skills, focusing on statistics, economics, and marketing research as an advantage
  • Experience of developing proposals and project design based on client need
  • Negotiation skills
  • Understand MMM, MTA, Lift/MPA, and other custom solutions business issues research methods, analysis and techniques
  • Experience using Nielsen analytics tools or previous experience with Nielsen data
  • Analysis of model outputs to deliver consultative recommendations
  • Project management
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time
  • Problem solving and solutions orientated
  • Perform work accurately and effectively with attention to detail
  • Engaging presenter
  • Good at building relationships, internally and with clients
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with an Offshore team and opening communication lines with them
  • Capable of leveraging tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI
  • Ability to articulate technical information in a simple, impactful way
  • Ability to operate and influence across various levels and stakeholders in the organization
  • An understanding of the FMCG industry and trends and implications for our clients and their brands
