British Canoeing is the United Kingdom's Governing Body for the sport and recreation of canoeing and kayaking.  This is an exciting time to join British Canoeing, as we are making progress in delivering Stronger Together - an exciting and ambitious new strategy for paddlesport in the UK (2017-2021).

We are now seeking to appoint two part time Operations Support & Maintenance Support roles to assist delivering a world class Performance Environment DTE (Daily Training Environment) for its Olympic & Paralympic Podium and Podium Potential athletes by supporting the facility management, logistics, fleet and Equipment of the British Canoeing Holme Pierrepont High Performance Centre.

The role would suit individuals who want to join an ambitious team and ensuring that the day to day operations of the Olympic & Paralympic programmes are delivered to meet the needs of the athletes and coaches. The 2 post holders will work collaboratively to deliver the needs of the programmes. The roles have a distinct skill set as outlined below:

Maintenance Support 0.5 FTE: Focused more on the maintenance and set up of the Sprint start Gate system and ensuring the boat shed environment is maintained to the required standard including maintenance of equipment and coaching bikes. Practical skills and experience are most important here.

Operations Support 0.5 FTE: Focused on minibus and trailer preparation & maintenance, health & safety, equipment management and inventory, clothing distribution and admin support at busy periods.

You must be able to work under pressure, whilst prioritising tasks to meet agreed deadlines, as well as meeting Health and Safety regulations. Some driving duties will be required with both roles.

These are varied, interesting and busy roles and due to the nature of the work there will be a requirement for some working outside of normal office hours and flexibility on when work is delivered.

Role profiles and person specifications can be found on the British Canoeing website www.britishcanoeing.org.uk
