Education Healthcare Commissioning Officer

The Children’s Commissioning and Quality Monitoring Team are looking for a dedicated, organised and committed Education, Health and Care (EHC) Commissioning Officer.

You will join a busy, fast paced team to facilitate person-centred planning meetings for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the 0-25 year old age range, ensuring children, young people and their families are at the centre of assessment and planning processes by facilitating the co-production of Education, Health and Care Assessments and Plans with and for children/young people with SEND.

You will also be required to commission relevant services/provision to ensure effective and timely delivery of the EHC process and EHC plans and work with relevant professionals in education, health and social care and other relevant disciplines to ensure their knowledge, experience, skills and relevant assessments inform the EHC Plans.

You will have:

  • a degree or equivalent, preferably in a related field, together with experience of working with children, young people with special educational needs and/or disability and their families, and commissioning services (based on needs identified in EHC plans)
  • experience of working with families in relation to difficult/sensitive issues is essential
  • DBS check, a clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work.
