We're looking for a proactive, organised and highly efficient individual to join our dynamic team as Legal Support Administrator and provide vital support to our Legal Services to ensure the smooth running of the national service, including general administrative, billing and financial functions.
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change - with individuals, in communities, across society - and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.
About the role
Our Legal Support Administrator will be expected to fulfil a broad range of important duties, including assisting the legal costs team in ensuring administrative, client file, financial and quality systems run smoothly and updating systems. You will also assist with billing files and maintaining the team's financial records, plus provide full support to the team and the Managing Solicitor, including taking telephone calls, secretarial, data entry and diary management. Undertaking other general administrative duties, such as copying, scanning, archiving, and processing invoices, is also essential.
About you
We're looking for a highly motivated, collaborative and energetic individual with experience of providing general administrative duties in a billing and financial context in a legal environment. An excellent communicator, both verbal and written, you will have strong IT skills and advanced knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft packages with the ability to type a minimum of 70 wpm. Professional, adaptable and customer-focused with a can-do attitude to your role, you will have impressive interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a commitment to achieving challenging targets and objectives.
Benefits include 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
