The Together Housing Group is currently enjoying a fantastic period of growth, and as such we are looking for a new Income Officer to join our Income Management team, – supporting tenants and managing the correct flow of income with all associated issues that may arise. Together Housing is a leading Housing Association, which improves the lives of thousands across the North of England, from Blackburn & Salford across as far as Hull & Derby.
This role would be based in Halifax, Yorkshire to maximise collection of tenancy related charges & any other identified income to the organisation. You will also promote the sustainment of tenancies through income collection & will be expected to share & promote good practice in income collection.
Our income team holds a pivotal role in the business, as the vast amount of money received by the business flows through this team.
You must have fantastic communication skills, being able to talk to a variety of customers, and to be able to assist in preventing arrears from escalating. This might include identifying where tenants are experiencing difficult in meeting their rent commitments, and why this might be so.
And understanding of the roles of matters such as benefits, employment and debt management would be useful to have as well.
Experience in the monitoring of cases, those that have fallen into arrears and making sure that prompt and relevant action is taken on these cases as required.
In order to fulfil the role of Income Officer, based in Halifax, Calderdale you will require the following key skills, knowledge & experience:
- Experience of working with customers dealing with a broad range of income management duties
- Experience of involving and engaging customers and stakeholders
- Experience of inputting and retrieving data on computerised information systems including Microsoft packages
- Ability to interpret and apply procedures
- Able to manage confidential / personal information appropriately and sensitively
Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license is required, with access to a vehicle insured for business use.
